How to Fix AirPods Keep Disconnecting From Your iPhone

AirPods Keep Disconnecting From Your iPhone?

Here are various methods for fixing the problem:

1. Change the Bluetooth settings

Resetting Bluetooth can occasionally resolve connectivity issues. Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn the Bluetooth switch off.

Turn it back on after 15 seconds, and you should hopefully hear your AirPods chime to let you know they are linked.

2. Verify audio output configurations

Once your AirPods are in your ears, the audio output should switch to them automatically, but the technology is far from flawless.

In this case, while listening to music, press the Airplay icon to manually switch the audio device to your AirPods.

3. Disable Auto Ear Detection

If the aforementioned fails to function, there can be a problem with automatic ear detection. The issue could be resolved by turning it off.

Go to Settings and choose your AirPods from the option at the top. Turn off Automatic Ear Detection by scrolling down and finding it.

4. Disable additional Bluetooth devices

Possible interference and conflicts with other Bluetooth devices you have connected, such as your Apple Watch Series 8, might also be a problem.

All you need to do in this case is detach and rejoin them.

Although there is a remote possibility that this is the case, you may check by opening the Watch app.

Select All Watches in the top left, select the I next to the watch you wish to unpair, and then select Unpair Apple Watch.

Open Settings > Bluetooth, press the I next to the different additional devices you wish to disconnect, and then choose Forget this device for other third-party devices.

5. Turn off the Wi-Fi on your iPhone

Although Apple hasn’t publicly recognized this flaw, it does appear that having Wi-Fi turned on might affect your AirPods’ connectivity.

To make the Wi-Fi symbol white, simply lower the Control Center shade. This disconnects the Wi-Fi.

6. Unplug your AirPods and then plug them back in.

It might just be necessary to quickly reset the connection. Scroll to the bottom of the menu under Settings > AirPods and select Disconnect.

The connection may then be repaired by closing the AirPods case, waiting 15 seconds, and then opening them again.

7. Perform an AirPods factory reset

Finally, there is the “if all else fails” choice. This is a somewhat more difficult method that we have already thoroughly addressed with a step-by-step manual.

The only change you might notice is that you won’t press the I next to your AirPods in the list of Bluetooth devices; instead, you’ll just choose them from the settings menu’s top selection of Bluetooth devices.
